100% Norwegian flour
Råde Bakery
A fully Norwegian, locally produced bread is sustainable! More local jobs and less need for long-distance transportation.
Most bread produced today contains a mix of imported flour, not Norwegian-produced flour, something that most consumers today are unaware of. A survey conducted by Mat og Marked last year showed that out of all types of bread across the country, only as few as three to four types of bread contained only pure Norwegian-produced flour.
Our black oat bread consists not only of 100% Norwegian flour but also flour produced locally in Østfold. It contains as much as 60% black oats, and it also includes miracle flour, which is also produced in Østfold.
The bread is especially moist and extra healthy. The ancient grain black oat contains more unsaturated fat than regular white oats, a lot of fiber like beta-glucans, more protein, and fewer carbohydrates.
Viking Outdoor Footwear
Our goal is to use 100% recycled, renewable, and responsible materials by 2030.
We use third-party certifications that set precise requirements for our suppliers regarding responsibility and verification in the production process, covering social, environmental, or animal welfare standards.
At Viking, we have set Science Based Targets (SBTi) to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from our own operations in line with the Paris Agreement. In 2023, we completed the first mapping of emissions throughout our value chain, from production to the use of our products, and we have now identified key areas for improvement in our current practices and throughout our value chain.
Viking is committed to respecting people, animals, communities, and the environment through our guidelines for responsible business practices. Our ethical guidelines for suppliers address human rights, working conditions, animal welfare, environmental protection, and anti-corruption.
Some of our products made from recycled materials you will find in our store.
